Jacopo
Riccati was
an Italian
mathematician who wrote on philosophy, physics and differential
equations. He is chiefly known for the Riccati differential equation.
Giovanni Rizzetti was a friend of
Riccati who wrote on
probability. We have one paper cited by Todhunter: Ludorum
Scientia, sive Artis conjectandi elementa ad alias applicata. It may
be found on pages 215-229 and 295-307 of
Actorum Eruditorum... Supplementa. Tomus
IX, Lipsiae. It is reprinted in Opuscula
omnia Actis eruditorum Lipsiensibus, Tomus 7
(1730-1740) on pages 48-60 and 76-86 to which the link above refers.

Giovanni Rizzetti sul calcolo delle probabilità e sul
teorema di Jakob Bernoulli," Historia
